Bamboo Cabinet

Remember this bamboo cabinet that I wanted my client to snap up?

Well, her hubby is not ready to think about the dining room yet, which is where I wanted to place it. I have been doing some research and have found the exact same bamboo cabinets online ranging from $2400-$9600. It is a late 19th century French design and in great shape. No one that is selling it online has painted it, which makes me wonder if it would lose its value if I did. But I am wondering should I snap it up for my own self and paint it either glossy black or white and change the glass for antiqued mirror? I can get it for about $800 and add mirror and paint and movers to deliver it all for another few hundred. It could be a clothing armoire in bedroom or storage behind desk in living room.
Thoughts, please.

The details are gorgeous! $800 sounds like a steal so I say if it goes with your vision, then do it. And if you change up your decor again in a couple of years, I bet you can sell it for more than you bought it for.

Do it! Although I would totally paint it a bright colour, like Hermes orange. I think there was a similar one in Lonny at some point ...

i LOVE it! if you're okay with the price, it's a super ht statement piece and i could also see it glossy red with lined shelves and a wallpapered back so you could use it as shoe storage. sooooo much potential! can't wait to see what you decide!

I think you should buy it. The cabinet is beautiful and would look
amazing painted black or white.

Ooo that could be really fab, and I love the idea of mirroring it up!! Hermes orange would be crazy awesome, but it would also be stunning in a neutral too.
