style icon: emmanuelle alt

This French Vogue gal has made an entire style out of about five pieces - I think I am going to stop shopping so much and do the same. I already have black leather looking jeans, black blazer, tee shirts, black motorcycle jacket and flare jeans..need a white dinner jacket, black military coat and lots of black strappy heels. Done!

I love the idea of having a wardrobe like this. I strive for it! I find the summer months more difficult, layers add so much to a simple outfit but what are your go tos for summer?! I'm always searching for the perfect summer dress!! -Boo

Yes, she has a very nice streamlined style - but also notice that in each photograph one item in her outfit comes to the fore and makes a statement - a quiet statement perhaps - but a statement nonetheless. In one photo, her shoes (heels) grab center stage, in another, her white jacket, in another, her leather jacket, etc, etc.

Summer styling within this philosophy permits us to wear an understated tank dress with terrific sandals or knock-out earrings - nothing that layers, but rather understated basics which permit our accessories to shine.

Thank you Elizabeth for sharing this - a fantasic philosophy which permits us the budget to purchase high quality basic pieces which become many, many outfits.

Have a terrific day!

I've always wanted to be able to pull off a uniform, but I get bored so quickly. This bitch is chic!
