finally!

I will show you guys the updates on my sis' house tomorrow - but today I am proud and happy to show off my newest Ebay fix! Remember my excitement over this 50's sectional I got on Ebay???

Looking past the nubby turquoise fabric, I saw the modern arms and curve shape, the gorgeous pin feet with brass tips, and the almost perfect condition. Sofas of this make and era have super heavy cushions with springs inside. This was a perfect piece just crying out for new upholstery. I wanted to get rid of the channel tufted back and cover it in a pale neutral linen. Here it is...

Gorgeous, right?? I am so pleased with it. I know I say this every time, but this truly is a forever piece! haha

Also got this octagon chrome table base on Ebay and now I need to have glass or marble cut for the top. So much going on at the tiny apartment these days...

The rug underneath is my second Beni Ourain from Morocco - this time I got one with no pattern so it would be more neutral and basic...What do you think of these Ebay redos?

LOVE! All of it. That sofa is amazing--such vision you had. And of course I love all things octagon.

Thinking about a similar rug for my living room--was that from an ebay shop, or a one off kind of a thing?

Classic modern sofa - the very model I grew up with in my parents' home - they still have it with the matching armchair. It was originally done in the gold which was so popular in the late 1950's - early 1960's - it is now reupholstered in ivory suede - including the chair. Exquisite - I would be shocked if you ever regretted scoring this wonderful piece. Your table base is also fantastic. So will it be glass or marble for the top? I could build a serious case for using each...

Heather, I ordered my first Beni from Maryam at www.mymarrakesh.typepad.com - her home was in Elle Decor and it was fast and easy. I ordered this one from danielledonker@gmail.com - she also lives in Morocco and has a blog with pics and sizes of the rugs she sells. I had to pay customs fee and had a little more trouble with Fed Ex, but it was not Danielle's fault. They are both wonderful people with beautiful rugs. Of course they are coming straight from the desert and need to be cleaned!

Everything is perfect! I think marble would be stunning for a table top.

OMG I have been scouring my local CL and ebay for a sectional like that for the past week.

It's good to see when they end up in the right hands. The new upholstery is gorgeous.

I LOVE THAT SOFA!!! I love the unique shape and that it has some history to it. What a brave one you are to buy such a spendy piece on EBAY, but it worked out! Can't wait to see the rest.

XOXO,
Whitney

How much did it cost to redo?
