yay weekend

P.S. On my trip to Marshall's yesterday for the hangers: there was a YSL bag there! At MARSHALL'S. It was only $400 off retail so it was still $1200 bucks, but I don't know what the heck is going on - I got very excited even though I can't afford it.

And the Eames lounge chair and ottoman I bought months ago on Ebay finally came in. I think I will recover it in the La Fiorentina gray and beige pattern. You can see the pink/red/gray/black rug underneath and there will be gray linen drapes behind it. What do you think? Is the La Fiorentina too overused?

Y'all have a sensational weekend! I will be celebrating my nephew Jack's bday, Mother's Day, and working my butt off all weekend as per the usual - catch you next week!

I like the idea of reupholstering this chair, and I LOVE the rug/grey curtain combination, but I would play around with other upholstery options. To me, the geometric rug pattern + geometric fabric might be too much. But maybe I'm just bad at visualization. Photoshop it on and see how you like it - that's the way I always decide:)

Oh my goodness there is too much luxe going on here for me to handle! A YSL bag at Marshall's? WTH?
And hilarious of course I've been looking for a rug high and low like yours for our bedroom! I'm switching to all white linens and we are going to paint the rest of the walls that dark gray color. Excited!
I would say the only drawback with using LF is would the pattern get messed up with the tufting? I'm trying to picture the Gossip Girl Missoni version, but the pattern is much smaller. Will be an amazing piece though and as you know you could sell it for a fortune!

Thanks for your thoughts, ladies. I like the large geometric on the rug because the rug is all faded and a much smaller scale. Plus, the LF fabric is cheaper than the mohair I wanted, and since I reup things every year, I would rather do it in the LF now and mohair or something nice in the next go round. Erika, people don't respect designer finds around here and everyone loves antiques, not MCM, so I always take a huge loss on my sales...:( I got the rug from a guy on Ebay in Iran - I can send you his store name - he has great stuff and you can negotiate him down. I am looooving the coral/charcoal now and can't wait to see your bedroom!

I almost died a few weeks ago when I saw a YSL at Marshalls! I'm glad you documented that shiz. Also, who is this Iranian rug man you speak of. That is my place of birth you, you know, so I should be privy to these things.
