a little bit rock and roll

It's so funny to me that as my interiors style goes more pastel and white and fresh, my personal clothing style goes more rock n' roll. Four purchases I made recently that I love and wear almost daily:

oh yeah - so I popped in at the last ten seconds and scored this sectional on Ebay - sorry if you were bidding and I scooped you! My most important tip for Ebay is never bid until the last 30 seconds, so people don't even know you are watching the item. Then when you do bid, make sure it is your ABSOLUTE highest amount, so even if they bid again you are comfortable with what you put and don't have any regrets!
Can't wait to recover this beauty!

sherbert sofas

My mom was a caterer/restauranteur/most excellent birthday cake maker when I was a kid and my request for my birthday every year was a rainbow sherbert ice cream cake like this one:

Yummy! So how about sherbert interiors? Although I had some pretty bold colors including blue and pink and yellow in the Bachelorette Pad I did, I have never gone full-out pastel. My teenage bedroom was lavender and I have just avoided it ever since. But now it seems so fresh and clean and feminine. I bought a sofa on Ebay today and I am going to recover it lavender! Can't wait to share it with you. Until then, be inspired by these rainbow sherbert sofas...which is your fave?

I am, like many people, obsessed with the overdyed rugs now at ABC Carpet and Anthropologie, to name a few places carrying them. Even Rugs USA has gotten in on the trend, and they have some great options. Many of them are real wool, and still a pretty penny, but they do have a few smaller bold ones for under $500.. check them out...here is my fave...

And my sweet blogger pal Rebecca June and I have been on the same style vibe for a long time. We are both loving the new collection at BCBG, and the new leopard print jean trend. Becca found an amazing knock-off at Target and shared it on her blog, so of course I followed her recommendation and ordered them right away (not in a stalker way-hahahaha). Here she is wearing the brown version:

Let me tell you these things are soft, and comfy, and fit better than any $200 pair of jeans I have put on and they are only $22 bucks! I am usually a size 6 in women's clothes and I am 5'8" - these are juniors sizes so I am wearing a size 9. I highly recommend them!

I'm back...sorta

I am back from the Dominican Republic and having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. My first disappointment was that it was so crazy here and my apartment building was surrounded by the biggest parade madness so Sabra and I were unable to meet up! :( Bummer.

Secondly, I have sold almost everything I own or sent it to a consignment shop so I have an empty apartment again - which is always depressing/exciting. So I am finding it difficult to focus on posts when I have a huge void to fill. Need to get on my next look. I can tell you that it will be lavender and gray.

Now, I am going to pretend I am working but emotionally I will be back in Punta Cana...

if i was a rich girl - v day

I love the daydream factor of "If I was a rich girl"... Today, if money were no object, I would whisk myself and 11 of my friends and family away for the weekend in Paris. We would meet for Valentine's Day dinner at the rooftop restaurant Nomiya (Palais de Tokyo), where only 12 people a night get to eat and enjoy the view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower...

I would have Robin Thicke perform all of his sexiest, most romantic songs for us while we dine...

And because wearing pink or red would be a little cliché, I will wear this white sequin gown by DVF and carry this lips clutch by Lulu Guinness, so you better bring your A game....

Then, I will send you off into the night with a parting gift...this rose gold Kelly bracelet by Hermes. They are only 38k each so don't make a big deal out of it...
