contemplating...

Inspired by the hit of red in some of my fave rooms:

I think this red bed could really be spectacular in the right space. What do you think?

industrial lust

Hey guys. I am DYING to do something like this industrial shelving in a project! So many people are doing built ins all over the place and really don't need still more storage in a new build, but older homes could definitely use it and I think it would be adorable in a boy's bedroom! Too bad it is in such high demand that you can't find it for cheap anymore. Do you guys have any good resources for vintage industrial storage?

dwell here

Do you guys get the Dwell Studio catalog/magazine? It is awesome. I could live in these pages. From the black walls to the gray furniture and brass lighting, I love all of it. My fave are the simple, modern boy's rooms. They aren't too young or too mature. Perfect.

ivanka's pad

Have you seen Ivanka Trump's apartment in the latest Elle? I am sure everyone will be blogging about it so I will keep it brief. It was done by Kelly Behun. I am obsessed with the cover sofa, love the art in every room (esp. dining and master), not crazy about the den, love the bedroom (need cherry blossoms in every photo to make them look like Elle Decor), and the nursery is pretty but just kinda blah. I like that she used Restoration Hardware and it looks like a great apartment but not too unattainable. She and her family are beautiful!

what do you think?

What do you guys think about religious and/or renaissance style art in modern spaces? I love it, but it can be a hard sell to men and people with traditional furniture. It can get very heavy quickly, and so it is best to surround it with really modern or light/white furnishings like these expert designers have done...

This piece (below) was auctioned off this past weekend here in New Orleans and I wanted it so badly! However, my current state of broke did not allow me to get it... I will keep looking and hope another piece comes my way.
What do you guys think of this type of art?

one room wonder

Isn't this one room apartment amazing? You really don't need anything more! It would also make an awesome guest room as three people could hang out and sleep comfortably... I think it is by Tom Delavan, but correct me if I am wrong...

why?

Why do cherry blossom branches make everything look better and why can't I ever buy them in New Orleans? Bummed.

lovely home

It is rare to like so many rooms in another person's home, but I have always liked Lisa Martensen's house (of Martensen Jones Interiors). I die for the mirrored dressing room and nursery especially! See the entire home and article on Lisa HERE...
