black house
Would you ever consider painting the outside of your house black? I think there is something mysterious and welcoming about it. Of course all of these black houses are in cold climates and it really wouldn't work here in the hot South, but I especially love it with the fog and snow rolling in or with the pale blue door...

there's a house near me that is a colonial with a modern addition that is painted black. It makes the old and new seamless, and also makes me dying to know who lives there! So bold and mysterious.
Oooo it's so sexy and sophisticated. I love it and would totally do it if I lived in an appropriate climate and had te right house I pull it off.
my husband would never go for it. he'd say something about resale value, i'm sure:) it is very dramatic. i'm repainting the house in a few weeks and i picked dark grey-brown color, as close to black as i will probably ever get
I love black houses! Without ever having seen one before, I admit, it does sound scary, but you've provided photos of perfect examples on how well it can actually work!
