Tiny Apartment Finally Done!

Well, I started this blog with a tiny, empty apartment back in February and it is finally done. I think this just goes to show that even a really small space takes months to do right, even with a designer focusing 100%. This culture is so accustomed to the HGTV one weekend design idea, and don't realize that the final reveal show takes months of planning and purchasing and the only things done in one weekend are the last touches (with a full crew!)...
Every project I do has a completely different feel and I love that. I have already moved on to my next style and can't wait to move again! hahaha
But for now this is my fave project on my website. Talk soon!

Thanks - the art above the bed is a photograph that has been printed on watercolor paper and painted on- it is by Madeleine and Robert Longstreet.

I love the apartment. I live in New Orleans and could have sworn I saw a lot of your items for sale on Craigslist. Did you already start re-decorating?

Yes, I have Tracy! You will think I am crazy but I am a design nomad - I change apartments almost every year so I can do a completely new look. Write me at elizabethneworleans@hotmail.com if you want to know what's left!

I've just found your wonderful blog via House of Turquoise and cannot wait to start reading back! Love your apt. Are you willing to share the source on the rug in the bedroom? Love it!

Thanks so much, Susie! The rug is a discontinued one from Pottery Barn called the Tangiers - you can find them easily on Ebay for around $300 - or I am selling this one for $150! It is a 5x8.

So many great design ideas on your blog! Do you know what paint color you used for the walls in the bedroom here?

I love the Nursery! I just wondering about the shelves, did you make those or purchase them and how have you affixed them to the wall!

Thanks, Bethanne

Thanks, Bethanne! I was inspired by the white art shelves from Pottery Barn. I think they are 4' long. But we wanted super long ones so we had a woodworker make these - they are 130" long and we just screwed them into the studs. The ones you buy at PB come with screws and instructions. You can put those really close together to create the length you want.
