1st Dibs Contest

Did you all see the Pinterest contest on 1st Dibs?

It ends today so get over there and get pinning. You create a board with items from 1st Dibs that make a cohesive living room look. I went a little 70's glam crazy. Here is my look with the items I pulled from 1st Dibs:

Have fun with it!

What is going on?

I don't know what is happening with Blogger but I posted a long negative post about Lonny's latest issue yesterday and I cannot tell if it published or not. I hope that it did not, because I firmly believe that what you put out is what you get back, and I regret using the blog as a forum to vent my frustrations. This blog is about inspiration and design - so back to it!
To shed some "light" on the weekend, I present you with these lovelies...I love these designers' (Joe Nye, Ralph Lauren, Barbara Barry, and John Rosselli) collaborations with Visual Comfort.  I know they are all over the place in terms of style, but I like them all and hope to be able to use them in projects down the line.
And of course the dream fixture for myself is the vintage Sonneman chrome chandelier from 1st Dibs. Anyone wanna loan me $2600? I'm good for it, I promise!

Fine Dining

I do not have a dining room but I am totally obsessed with dining room tables and chairs. My absolute faves are modern chrome or brass chairs with rustic wood farm tables (as I did for my own client with the white molded Eames chairs and wood table), or slick glossy tables with a mishmash of antique wooden chairs. I also love stone tables with lucite chairs, like Kelly Wearstler's office (see above). The most important thing to me is that the dining chair and tables do not match. It's very cool if the chairs themselves do not match, either!
Here are some of my fave dining room looks and some chairs from Ebay and 1st Dibs that would look great with the West Elm white lacquer dining table or a wood farm table. Extra points if you have vintage chairs recovered in a graphic print or white leather!
Bon Apetít!
