of a kind
Have you guys been to the website Of A Kind? It is chock full of awesome clothes, jewelry, baby stuff, etc... I get into phases where I wear the same jewelry for months on end. This spring and summer I am wearing stacks of gold bangles and rings. Heading into fall though, I can imagine wearing these stud earrings and sharp necklace every single day. Love!

details that wow
The beauty is in the details. I just changed out one of the light fixtures in my cottage. I will photograph it tomorrow. The new fixture was about $150 dollars, but it is a completely different room because of it. I think when people walk in your house they won't notice the contractor grade finishes and fixtures, but if you have exchanged those items for pieces that you love, they WILL notice that the room feels warm and curated. It's like getting a great new haircut or even a little botox... ;)
Here are a few small details that I think could transform a space. Happy decorating!

I read the blogs so you don't have to...
This past week in blogland I have discovered several yummy things - here is the roundup so you don't have to troll for it yourself:
My bestie Erika lured me away from snakeskin with her floral Ted Baker iphone case...get it HERE...
I always read Jamie's blog, but searching for a lamp for a client led me to her store Furbish Studio and this beauty - the perfect pop of color in a room. Like always having fresh flowers!
Several bloggers, including myself, have pinned or posted on Vanessa Traina's wedding dress perfection:
Which led me BACK to her apartment that was featured last year I think....anyway, the stuffed faux zebra is too much for me:
But the antler chair and Native American headdress are pure perfection:
Get your own headdress HERE....gorgeous art in any interior!
Here's to a great week!

obsessed with: west elm
West Elm is killing it these days. I wasn't too thrilled when they jumped on the Beni Ourain bandwagon and started carrying vintage finds, because I think we look to West Elm for inexpensive looks inspired by high design, not expensive high end stuff itself. But they are making great things at the same time..
The new grasscloth covering on desks, mirrors, etc.. is a fabulous texture to add into any space...
I don't know how sturdy/nicely scaled this sofa is in real life, but a single bench seat sofa is a great modern, classic piece. At $1600 bucks, I think it is a great value if the quality is there.
West Elm currently has a couple of tables with marble tops. These will stay modern looking for years...
They have a ton of awesome lighting right now, but you can't beat the sculptural quality of the Kudu lamp:
There are too many great accessories, bedding, and tabletop items to go through, but as you can see from my choices, I think the key when shopping at online retailers or discount stores like Marshall's is to keep it simple. The more clean and basic the shape and color, the more expensive and classic the item will look for years to come. Happy shopping!

perfection
Remember the Alexander Wang leopard wedge from a couple seasons ago?? It never dropped into my price range, even on Ebay! Well, you can thank Zara for this perfect look alike - $159 bucks of lovely.

i bought it
Purchases this past week include - this dress from Zara for my trip to the Dominican Republic...
But I couldn't wait to wear it so last night I paired it with ankle boots and a black leather jacket. Adorbs!
Also, this chandelier is on its way from Italy:
Still considering these chairs, which are on my local craigslist for a steal....
Did you pick up any great finds this week? Have a fabulous weekend, friends!

Urban Outfitters apartment
In my most blogged about project, the nursery I did for my bestie, the first thing people always ask about are the bookshelves. The second is the ottoman in front of the rocker. It was from Urban Outfitters! Many people don't know that there is a lot of furniture on UO's website that can only be bought online - it is not sold in stores. I always look there when I need an inexpensive, but funky piece. Here are my current faves:
The zig zag chair is so cute! I would gold leaf the legs or paint them out black. There is also a print shop on their online store with tons of great prints for amazing prices to help you create that art wall. What are your go-to online stores?
