Some of you have asked if I am on Pinterest...I was BARELY on there for the past few months - it takes a long time to upload pics and I got off of Facebook as it was a time drain...but then I just spent the whole day today uploading awesome rooms that really inspire me. congrats to my bestie

Yesterday one of my blogging besties celebrated ten years of working for herself. She celebrated by doing even MORE work - launching a brand new website for her business - Small Shop Studio.  Congratulations, Erika!

Erika Brechtel is one of the first people I "met" in the blogging world, and I thank God every day for that. This woman is such a hard working entrepreneur, wife, and mother - and is simply gorgeous inside and out! If you need any sort of branding for your creative business - website, blog, business cards, logos, fresh ideas - period - she is the one to see. The internet is bursting with websites that she has created. And don't hate her because she could also be a model!

busy weekend

This past weekend was a blur of work - took drapes over to "Chinoiserie Chic" client...I cannot wait for you guys to see this living room. Lime drapes, Chiang Mai dragon pillows, aqua velvet chairs, lacquer coffee table, and tons of vintage treasures passed down from family..

I also sent this sofa off to be reupholstered! It was one of my Ebay finds and I am having it done in the palest flax linen...

I did my fall wardrobe freshen up at Target. You guys, they have some awesome basics there - this camel blazer and red cords came home with me and were only $20 bucks each!

I have been working on a painting for my sis' house - still have three or four layers to go, but it is coming out great with a lot of depth. If you want to do the same thing, I suggest laying down a solid layer of color, then scraping on sections with a palette knife, then brushing on layers of watered down paint, etc.. - in other words using a different technique and texture each layer so you get lots of dimension...

zara home

Speaking of Zara, we have all been anxiously awaiting the US launch of Zara Home, and it launches today! I haven't been too thrilled with most things on the site - there are plenty of low cost furniture and bedding websites in the US (i.e. West Elm has some of the same things cheaper and Marshall's and TJ Maxx are killing it right now), but some of the accessories are to die for....here are my picks:

I have absolutely nowhere to wear this dress. I have several black dresses sitting in my closet already. I have no events coming up.
Those are my reasons for not needing this Zara dress. But it is absolutely gorgeous. That is my reason for wanting it soooooo bad.
