Saturday spaces - on Thursday
I have literally thousands of photos in my inspiration files - I thought you might like to know what I was looking at today. How is your week going?

Making plans, taking chances
It is so hard to believe that I am about to turn 35 in a month and a half. I feel so young still and there are so many things that I want to do! I know that most of you who read this are younger than I am, so know that you can change careers at any age. If you have dreams and goals, you can keep doing new things and going back to school for the rest of your life if you want. If you are older than me, tell me what your dreams and goals are. Is there something that you still haven't had a chance to accomplish?
I will tell you a secret - I am taking the LSAT October 1st. That means that I will start law school next fall at 36 and not graduate until I am 39. Looking for a job and taking the bar exam at 40 will be tough, but I am so excited to be more skilled and to have new adventures! Here is what I envision the whole thing to look like (below). I don't know why I included the naked pic; there will probably not be nudity in law school. But you never know.

Hemnes Hack
Ever since my buddy Erika's nursery reveal, I cannot stop thinking of the Ikea Hemnes chest! The gray stain is so cool and it looks so amazing when you change the knobs, the way she did here:
I think I would do the taller piece in my client's home. But they both take 12 knobs! I am out for huge impact. I think these white faceted geometric knobs would be amazeballs!
I think brass looks great with gray too, but I would want them to be huge - like 3" diameter flat polished pulls:
I posted before on the agate and jewel pulls. Could be very glam and feminine with the gray stain...these sparkly pyrite ones are $225 each!
If I were doing the chest in a super fancy room, I would love to try these quartz pulls from Carl Martinez.
And at the end of the day, I have been known to throw a lucite knob on almost anything. It always works. What is your favorite knob or pull? Please send me some unusual ones - I love discovering new hardware. Have a great week!

These swirly knobs could be cool - but they look a little too young and inexpensive...
Everyone does the classic ring pull. I like the weight and texture of this one.

goodbye beach bedroom
Just thought I would post one last pic of this bedroom done in the "boho beachy" look. It is just too casual and beachy for me and not my style at all, even though I love each individual element on it's own. The beach photo, lamps, pillow and throw are all going away. The moroccan rug is going back to the living room. Time for a fresh start!
Have an awesome weekend!

Newie Killed it
While Elle Decor and Architectural Digest continue to pall on me, I think Newell Turner really knocked it out of the park this month with House Beautiful. The issue is dedicated to "Living Large in Small Spaces" and it totally rocked. These images are my faves... (sorry for quality, but they are scanned in..) Did you see the mag yet?

Thursday Upswing
So the disappointment of the day is over! My friend Betsy who runs Shaun Smith Home (one block down) commented on my last post that she had a cool huge hexagon brass lamp in for a steal and I ran right down and bought it! So excited. May put a black or brass shade on it. While there this lacquer table/desk caught my eye. So crazy special and different, makes me think of Tamara Mellon's apartment or Kelly Wearstler! Gorg! Makes me wish I did not already have my huge lucite desk...
Somebody give Betsy a call and buy this thing immediately- maybe if you become one of the gang you can call her Boo like I do. ;) And check out her fab blog, Bywater Boo - all about her home reno..
Later taters!
